OCULAR

The eyes, mirrors of the soul and gateways to the nervous system, allow for a deep cleansing of the traces left by the past.

EMDR® (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a technique that emerged in the late 1980s.

Discovered by psychologist Dr. Francine Shapiro, who received the 'Sigmund Freud' prize in 2002, this method is based on the following principles:

  • Brain plasticity

  • Neurophysiology

  • Brain cognition

  • Eyes as mirrors of the soul and health.

The REC-SO® (Emotional and Behavioral Reprogramming through Ocular Stimulation) is a more recent technique than its muse.

Inspired by EMDR®, it incorporates various concepts from NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) and other cognitive and behavioral therapies.

This method allows the treatment of major traumas (such as death, accidents, sexual assaults...) in 1 to 3 sessions (of approximately 3 hours), as well as other situations/events that impact our daily lives.

It boasts a 90% success rate for the most severe traumas.

These techniques are based on the principle that brain plasticity allows our brain to regenerate and adapt at every moment. Every new experience, whether good or bad, creates new synaptic connections. This means that every trauma leaves traces in our brain. Generally, what happens is that our neurological system reinvents itself to protect us from a potential recurrence or at least to prevent a similar situation, in order to avoid retraumatization. While this protective mechanism comes from a good intention, it often leads us to adopt irrational behaviors that we struggle to change because we are not aware of the underlying reasons.

Thanks to brain plasticity, it is possible to erase these traces and create new connections that are far more beneficial, allowing us to regain freedom in our choices and actions.

Our mind inherently has the quality of self-healing, but in the case of trauma, this mechanism is impaired. Eye movements help identify blockages and reignite the brain's natural self-healing process.

Brain cognition is the lens through which we perceive (with our five senses), analyze, and react (90% of our behavior is driven by unconscious elements). In the case of trauma, survival instinct takes over, and internal mechanisms designed to protect us from irreversible damage create new cognitive processes to avoid recurrence. Eye movements help disarm these cognitive processes, which no longer serve their original purpose, and prevent us from living our full potential or from seeing things as objectively as possible.

The eyes are the mirrors of the soul and health. By moving them in a specific procedure, we can change the way we perceive a trauma or situation and, most importantly, limit its consequences. This, in turn, reduces the impact it has had on our behaviors, emotions, and daily life.
